Earlier this week, the company introduced the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro in China. The new tablets come with interesting features and compeling hardware. According to reports from the supply chain, the company may be preparing the global debut of this lineup for September.
According to the leaked info, the Mi Pad 5 will hit Europe as soon as in the next month. Unfortunately, there is still no specific date, but that may emerge in the coming weeks.
The Mi Pad 5 is the vanilla option with a large 11-inch LCD with 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision and HDR10.
Under the hood, the slate sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal Storage.
The tablet packs a single camera on the back with 13 MP resolution. On the front, there is an 8 MP snapper for video calls and selfies.
The device has quad speakers but no audio jack. It draws powers from an 8,720 mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.
The device also offers Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and runs MIUI 12.5 straight out of the box with Android 11. It offers support for a stylus and a keyboard case.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro brings the more powerful and 5G-capable 870. However, it’s also available in a model with Wi-Fi only.
The device users faster LPDDR5 RAM and goes up to 8 GB on the 5G variant.
There are two cameras on the back – a 13 MP camera for the non-5G version, and 50 MP in the 5G variant as well as a 5 MP depth sensor in both units. The front-facing camera is an 8 MP unit which works well for selfies and video-calls
The Pro has a smaller 8,600 mAh battery, but sports a more capable 67W fast-charging. It offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, 8 speakers, and Android 11 with MIUI 12.5.
