Xiaomi Mi 9 is now getting an Android 11 update via MIUI 12.5 user interface. The Mi 9 is a flagship killer smartphone unveiled in February 2019. It comes with good specs as of that time and even now.
When it was announced, it is running on the Android 9 Pie operating system. Last year, it received the Android 10 operating system update via MIUI 12. Now Xiaomi is pushing the Android 11 operating system to the smartphone.

The Android 11 update is currently rolling out to a limited number of people in Europe. It will reach the world’s users in the next coming weeks. Normally, Xiaomi pushes updates to a limited number of users to test its stability and if there are no issues, then the update will be released to all users.
You can check your Mi 9 to see if the update is available to you. You can always go to settings > about phone to see if there is any update. The Android 11 update for Xiaomi Mi 9 is based on MIUI 12.5 and comes with a V12.5.1.0.RFAEUXM firmware version.
It carries a huge weight at 2.4GB in size. The update arrives with June 2021 security patch, 20 times more rendering power, instant response to gestures, and more. It also comes with new features for the note app which you can see in the screenshot above.

To recall, the Mi 9 comes with a 6.39-inches Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset that has an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.84GHz.
At the rear, it has a 48-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide. On the front, it comes with a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. What is keeping the light on is a 3300mAh battery capacity that supports 27W fast charging.
