OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro to replace their older brothers, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. We have gathered that the code name of this smartphone is Lemonade, thanks to the leaker on Twitter. Even though we are yet to receive any specs of this device, the launch date has been tipped.
The OnePlus 9 is going to be launched in mid-March 2021. This was gathered from Android Central sources revealing that OnePlus will hold a launch event sometime in mid-March next year, on which the OnePlus 9 will be unveiled. Even though it will be in mid-March next year, the sources failed to provide the exact date.
Recently, we got our first look at the OnePlus 9 CAD render. This was brought to us by Steve Hemmerstoffer a.k.a. OnLeaks via the Voice platform. At first glance, you will notice that it has a carbon copy of the Galaxy S20 FE. OnePlus seems to have imitated the design of the Galaxy S20 FE on this one.
Although the leaker revealed that the design is still at the prototype stage but most of it is set in stone. However, there may still be some changes, most especially with respect to the rear camera design. On the front, it will have a curved display with a punch hole at the top left corner of the screen. He also revealed that the display size is going to be 6.7inches and there shouldn’t be a larger model.
Looking at the rear, you will notice that the camera module has been shifted to the left just like how they did on the OnePlus 8T. There are four cameras on this module, two of them are large and protrude while the other two small ones are flush with the back. We can see a single LED flash and a microphone. The OnePlus 9 will also have a glass back.
The right side of the phone houses an alert slider and power button, while the left side houses the volume rocker. There are two holes at the bottom for the speaker along with the USB-C port and a SIM tray slot. We are yet to get the specifications of this phone but we know that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 875 processor and run Android 11 out of the box.
