In August of 2019, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones. The Note 8 became the most selling midrange smartphones that year till the Note 9 came into power. Xiaomi Redmi Note series are known to carry good specs at affordable prices. That’s why a lot of companies are competing relentlessly with them.
Well, since the Redmi Note 8 is the most widely sold Redmi smartphone ever, the company seemed to update it to keep the sales flowing. There is a new Redmi Note 8 smartphone that was spotted on EEC and FCC platforms. Speculations are saying that this could be the Redmi Note 8 2021. It has an M1908C3JGG model number and after all checks and research, it appears that this is indeed Redmi Note 8 2021.
The FCC listing shows that it will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and runs on the Android 11 operating system based on MIUI 12.5 skin. It is also said that the smartphone will have a 4000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging. In comparison with the standard Redmi Note 8, it has a 4000mAh battery and 18W fast charging.
The phone won’t launch in India, Indonesia, and Turkey as per tipster Xiaomui. Its codename is slated to be Biloba and will likely launch in global, EEA, and Russian markets. Previous reports also said that the phone will come with a 120Hz refresh rate display. Keep in mind that this phone is yet to be officially confirmed by Xiaomi. When they do, we will update you here.
