Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max last year, alongside its siblings, the Note 9 Pro, Note 9s and the Note 9. When the Note 9 Pro Max was launched last year, it is running on the Android 10 operating system which is based on MIUI 11.
In November, the Note 9 Pro received an Android 11 update. Users of the Note 9 Pro Max were expecting theirs but unfortunately, it didn’t come. The Note 9 Pro Max didn’t receive the Android 11 update.
Now today being June 28 2021, Xiaomi has decided to push the Android 11 update to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max users in India. While the update is going out in India, you can as well check your Note 9 Pro Max outside of India to see if the update is available to you.
The update bears MIUI 12.0.1.0.RJXINXM number and it has a 2.3GB size. It brings June 2021 security patch alongside Android 11 features. If you are in India and has not yet received the update, you might have to wait a while for it. The update is rolling out in stages.
Xiaomi pushed out the update to a limited number of users. The broad update will follow a few days from now. If you are outside India, you can still check your phone for the update.
