Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD’s warranty repair costs have been announced. A tipster on Weibo shared the photos of the repair costs of different parts of the Mi Mix Fold. The tipster revealed that the most expensive part is the folding inner screen and the motherboard.
The repair cost of the motherboard however varies depending on the storage versions. Mi Mix Fold folding inner screen costs 3,900 yuan ($594) to repair while the external screen costs 700 yuan ($106) to repair. Its motherboard costs 3,300 yuan ($503).
Even at this expensive repair cost, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold still remains the cheapest folding smartphone to maintain when compared with the Huawei Mate X. The screen replacement of the Mate X costs a whopping 7,080 yuan (~$1,010).
Mi Mix Fold specs reminder
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold was launched on March 30 in China. It comes with an 8.01 inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1860 x 2480 pixels. The device features a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of 900 nits.
It comes powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset and runs on Android 10. There is a 108MP triple rear camera and a 20MP selfie camera. What is keeping the light on is a non-removable 5020mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.
