Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has been unveiled in India. We earlier reported that Samsung made the announcement date public through their Twitter account. Now they have launched it today as promised.
The smartphone as some of you know had been unveiled in Europe and some parts of the world, it is just getting to India today. The phone is now the cheapest 5G smartphone in India.
Samsung said that the device will get two major OS updates in the future which is nice. The phone has 11 5G bands, which means it will be future-ready when 5G networks are rolled out in India.
Specifications and features
The Galaxy A22 5G packs a 6.6-inch TFT Infinity-U display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor paired with 6GB / 8GB of RAM while there is 128GB internal storage on the device. The storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
For photography, the A22 5G packs an 8MP selfie camera while at the rear aspect, there is a triple camera setup marshalled by a 48MP primary camera with OIS and autofocus. There is also a 5MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth camera.
The phone also packs a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and under the hood, is a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. The phone runs on Android 11-based OneUI 3.1 out-of-the-box.
The A22 5G is available in Green, Grey, and Violet colours. The phone also features support for Samsung Pay, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The price of the Galaxy A22 5G in India is INR 19,999 (around $270) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM. The 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM is priced at INR 21,999 (around $295).
It will be available for purchase through Amazon, Flipkart, Samsung’s online store, other leading online stores, and authorized retail stores.
