LG launched the LG Q92 5G as a cheaper alternative to the LG VELVET 5G last year. The smartphone debuted with Android 10. Almost a year after its release, the handset has finally started receiving the Android 11 update.
As per a software support page (via PiunikaWeb) on the LG Electronics website for South Korea, the ex-smartphone maker has begun to roll out the Android 11 update for the LG Q92 5G in its home country.
The latest system update brings all the new features of Android 11 and some more. Just like for the LG VELVET LTE, the new update also comes with new camera features, namely ‘Quick View’ mode, a ‘Night Time Lapse Mode’, and an in-built QR scanner.
This software build is being currently seeded out in batches. It should reach all the Korean units in the coming days. Similarly, we expect LG Electronics to release this update for other regional variants of the LG Q92 5G very soon.
According to an official announcement by LG from mid-April, the LG Q92 5G is also eligible for the Android 12 update. But it won’t be receiving Android 13 like the LG WING, LG VELVET 5G, and LG VELVET LTE. Anyway, we cannot tell for sure if the device will be indeed updated to the next version of Android.
