Lenovo announced its first gaming smartphone in July last year and the smartphone is the Legion, also known as Legion Duel. This year 2021, they announced the Legion Duel 2 also known as the Legion 2 Pro in China.
We know that Lenovo doesn’t announce two gaming smartphones a year so the next gaming smartphone which will be probably called the Lenovo Legion 3 Pro will be announced in 2022.
Ahead of the launch, the General Manager of Lenovo China Mobile Division, Chen Jin, has revealed the chipset that will be powering the smartphone. He took to the Chinese micro-blogging platform called ‘Weibo’ to reveal this.
In his Weibo post, he talks about Qualcomm’s upcoming processor with model number SM8450. There are reports that Qualcomm’s SM8450 processor is the next flagship processor for 2022. It will be called the Snapdragon 898.
Chen Jin mentioned that the upcoming Legion 3 Pro will be powered by the said processor. He revealed that the new flagship GPU will be more efficient and have a significantly upgraded performance.
He also claims that the flagship phone will feature industry-leading fine-tuned performance. Chen Jin also touched on the Legion 2 Pro, he said that the phone is now discounted and worth buying now.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 is said to feature Kryo 760 CPU, an Adreno 730 GPU, Spectra 680 ISP, and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem.
Qualcomm usually announces its next flagship processor at the end of the year, so the Snapdragon 898 might be announced at the end of this year. The launch event is called Qualcomm submit.
