It seems like Fossil will release the Gen 6 smartwatches on August 30. The company has set up a promo page on its website to tease the Gen 6 smartwatch, and while the company doesn’t explicitly mention the August 30 date on the page, an email sent by Fossil with a countdown timer suggests the Gen 6 smartwatch will be unveiled sometime early on Monday.
Additionally, the company posted a video teaser on its Facebook account, giving us a glimpse of the Gen 6. A recent leak revealed that the smartwatches will arrive in 42mm and 44mm sizes with Snapdragon 4100+ SoC and 1.28″ OLED screens with Always-On functionality.
Most models will be water-resistant up to 50 meters and offer 24-hour battery life, with the cell going from flat to 80% in 30 minutes.
For health and fitness, the Gen 6 will come with a step counter, heart rate monitoring, SpO2 sensor, and in-built GPS.
The Fossil Gen 6 will run Google’s Wear OS out of the box, but this isn’t the Wear OS 3 introduced in May. That one will arrive on Fossil’s smartwatches as an upgrade sometime next year.
The Gen 6 is said to be priced between €300 and €330, with sales expected to begin on September 27. We’ll find out if that’s true on Monday.
