A new report shows that Oppo is preparing to launch a gaming smartphone. It comes surprisingly that Oppo is entering the gaming market. The report came from 91mobiles publication. The publication found that Oppo has filed a patent in the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for a smartphone.
The patent didn’t mention it is a gaming smartphone though but looking at the renders, one can see that it is a gaming smartphone. It shares the same design language with the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro and Asus ROG Phone 5.
Looking at the front of the smartphone, we can see that there is nothing like a notch there but instead, a thick forehead. We can’t say that it won’t sport a selfie camera or will use an under-display camera but the selfie camera will likely be fitted in the upper thick bezel.
The rear of the phone houses a quad-camera set up in a vertical module with a gaming aesthetic. The rear reminds us of the Oppo Reno5 Marvel Edition. At the top, it has a microphone and at the bottom, it has a 3.5mm audio jack, a second microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille.
The right side of the phone houses a power button while the left side houses the volume buttons. Oppo has not made any comment or reveal their intention of launching a gaming smartphone in the future, hopefully, they will do soon.
We expect the smartphone to clear some certain official certifications so that we can tell its marketing name and specifications.
