Tecno mobile is gearing up to launch a new camera-centric device dubbed the Camon 17. The Tecno Camon 17 has been listed on google play console which revealed some of its specifications. It will be coming with a Mediatek chipset, 6GB of RAM, Android 11, a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, and a PPI of 320. The smartphone has also been spotted on the FCC certification website which revealed the dimension, design, and battery capacity.
Tecno Camon 17 listed on google play console
The google play console listing of the Camon 17 revealed its front design. According to the image, the smartphone will be coming with an upper left corner punch-hole display which will be a house for the selfie camera. The device also appears to have quite a little bit of chin and bezels. Now, there is a version of the Camon 17 that will arrive with a centred punch-hole design. According to tipsters, the Camon 17 series will include the Camon 17, Camon 17 Pro, and the bigger Camon 17 Premier.
Looking at the image from the google play console listing, it appears that the version listed is the standard Camon 17. This is because the punch hole is at the left upper corner of the display. Camon 17 Pro and Premier will likely have theirs at the centre. Another reason is that the google play listing revealed very low specifications for the device which means it will likely be the standard version of the Camon 17 series.
Speaking of the specifications, the device has been revealed to come with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It will also have a pixel per inch density of 320. The listing revealed that it will be powered by the Mediatek Helio G70 chipset which is the same chipset in the last year’s model. But this time, it will be running on the latest Android 11 operating system with Tecno’s HIOS skin. Another thing to note is that it is listed with a CG6j model number.
Camon 17 certified by FCC with model number CG6j
The Tecno Camon 17 is listed on google play console with CG6j model number. That reminds us of a Tecno smartphone that was spotted on the FCC certification website ago with the same CG6j model number. The FCC certification now reveals the rear design of the device. As you can see, the smartphone will come with a vertical camera module alongside a pile shaped led flash for low light photography.
It also reveals that the device will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. This is just a sketched design of the smartphone. We have seen the real renders of the smartphone on the TechArena24 youtube channel. The render from TechArena24 shows that it will come with a quad rear camera, and with what appeared to be a quad-LED flash beside the lens. Now the design shown on the TechArena24 youtube channel doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor at the rear like the certified version.
That is because the one on the channel seems to be the Pro version and will likely come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Still on the FCC certification, the device was certified with a 4,900mAh battery capacity. But this may just be the rated capacity, the phone might come with a 5,000mAh battery. Also, it will support 18W fast charging just like its predecessor. Last but not least, the Tecno Camon 17 will measure 165 x 76 x 8mm in size. The launch of the smartphone is imminent as it has bagged this necessary certification and listing.
