BlackView, a company known for its rugged smartphones will unveil a new tablet tomorrow. They made this announcement on their Twitter handle and the launch will kick off by 6:12 PM GMT+8 tomorrow. The new tablet which is BlackView Tab 9 will come with the company’s OS skin.
Recall that the predecessor, Tab 8, didn’t come with their custom skin but rather with a Magic UI skin. Now BlackView is going all-in to announce the first tablet with their OS custom skin on top of Android 10. They also boast some of the features of the OS such as dark mode, gesture navigation, parental controls, digital well-being, select to speak and talk back.
The tablet will come with a very slim, slick, and stylish design. It has a thickness of only 8.9mm and comes with a matte coating. BlackView didn’t reveal any of its specs but we will get to know tomorrow.
BlackView Tab 8 specs
To recall, the older Tab 8 comes with a 10.1 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. It uses a Spreadtrum SC9863A chipset and runs on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1. The tablet comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, with MicroSD card support.
At the rear, it only has a single 13MP camera while on the front, it has a 5MP camera for selfies. The device comes powered by a 6,580mAh battery capacity without fast charging support. Hopefully, the new BlackView Tab 9 will come with fast charging support.
The older Tab 8 is one of the cheapest tablets till day, it costs only $120. It was unveiled in July 2020 last year but later in December, BlackView unveiled the successor with some improved features called the Tab 8E. The Blackview Tab 9 will be the company’s second tablet since existence and the first with their own custom OS skin.
